Jen’s Story
Finding My Purpose with ADHD: Jen's Journey to Empowering Neurodivergent Entrepreneurs
Hi there, I'm Jen. A Virtual Assistant and Online Business Manager based in the picturesque Yorkshire, UK. My journey has always been about exploring new places and helping others. For over a decade, I dedicated myself to jobs focused on supporting people, including six years as an adult social worker. While this work was fulfilling, I dreamed of bigger things—I wanted to combine my passion for travel with my career.
The Leap into Entrepreneurship
In 2022, I made it happen! I started my own business and headed into full-time travel. But here's the twist: instead of embracing every moment and finding my true purpose, I felt lost and out of sync. My usual coping mechanisms weren’t working, and the challenges I’d always faced seemed magnified.
Virtually Possible: A Business Born from Passion
With the hope of creating a successful business that allowed me to help others, work remotely, and address my own ADHD, I channelled my social work experience, love of business, and a whole lot of kindness into creating Virtually Possible. I started my business journey as a VA, but I can proudly say that I am now an accredited Online Business Manager, as well as support worker, dedicated to helping others streamline their lives and businesses.
My Niche: Supporting Neurodivergent Business Owners
By chance - or perhaps fate - I began working with neurodivergent business owners. I found I could relate to them on a deep level. Drawing on my previous work experience and my ability to connect with neurodivergent individuals, I poured everything I knew, along with a whole lot of love and kindness, into Virtually Possible. Now, I proudly help neurodivergent business owners streamline their lives and businesses.
A Turning Point: My ADHD Diagnosis
In 2023, I finally got the answers I needed. Like many women, I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. It was a revelation! Suddenly, the "ditzy" or "dopey" labels I'd shrugged off for years made sense. My struggles weren't character ‘flaws’, they were part of my neurodivergent brain.
Qualifications and Continuous Learning
As I mentioned, I have a degree in social work and many years of experience that allow me to run my business - and yours - effectively.
In addition to this, my accreditation with IAOBM in Online Business Management (OBM) has sharpened and enhanced my business management skills, including business strategy, project management, team management, launch preparation, and more.
I have completed the first year of the UK's only ADHD diploma with ADHD Foundation, the newest and highest qualification in the field. This advanced qualification has deepened my knowledge and equipped me to support others in truly understanding their ADHD. My coaching approach integrates biology, psychoeducation, and creative strategies to empower business owners with ADHD. I truly believe that ADHD is not a deficit, but rather a unique difference with its strengths and of course, challenges. But, with the right support and adapted environment, you can fully embrace your ADHD and learn to enjoy your life. My coaching helps individuals develop a deep understanding of their ADHD, identifying specific behaviours and implementing personalised strategies to manage them effectively. Together, we'll build a foundation of understanding, kindness and strategies to support your success, allowing you to achieve your goals.
Completing this diploma isn't just about personal development; it's about raising the bar for ADHD coaching in the UK. I'm passionate about empowering entrepreneurs to better understand their ADHD and develop practical strategies that unlock their full potential, leading to thriving businesses and greater personal satisfaction in both professional and personal life.
